Taavi!

A couple weeks ago, Gill and I managed to find a time to shoot maternity photos only 3 or 4 days before she ended up delivering her boy, Taavi.

And here are MANY more previews for you to enjoy!

Welcome little Taavi!

I love the old-school system of barter and trade.  I’ve always enjoyed having skills like photography, or sewing, or cooking/baking to trade for other things.   Last weekend, friends of ours kindly came to our home and did a bunch of electrical work for us in exchange for photography and a haircut!   I can dig it.  And it was a lot of fun too.

Welcome little Lindsay!

Stefanie & Phil

A short drive from my house on the Linc and a sudden right turn takes you to the Tamahaac Country Club–a gorgeous old property on the escarpment that overlooks West Hamilton, and specifically Mac.

This is where Stefanie and Phil had their beautiful wedding.  So much thought was put into this event–it really was impressive…and hot.   Beautiful, impressive and hot.   Holy perspiration, Batman.  If anyone reflects back on the photographer, they’ll say ‘Hey, who was the photographer again?  Oh right, the really sweaty one.   She sure was hot.’

Anyway–it was a great day–lovely venue, lovely bride and happy occasion.   Congratulations Stefanie & Phil!

Medium Format Film

A friend of mine recently lent me his medium format camera.  In case you’re not sure what that is, see the photo of it in the slideshow below.

Here are some shots from my experimenting with my friend’s and then my own medium-format camera.

A Cottage Wedding Reception

Sometimes I have the privilege of being a guest and a photographer!    August long weekend I was the photographer for my cousin’s Canadian wedding reception up in Muskoka.  My cousin’s wife is Peruvian, so the wedding was held in Peru in April with this reception to follow for those of us unable to make to trip for the wedding.    It was truly wonderful spending time with my cousins and aunts and uncles while capturing some great candids.

Congratulations Angus & Mariana!

Gill & Unborn Taavi

Gill and I had been talking about this shoot for ages!   But it just never happened.   Then, one night, the stars aligned and we were able to get 30 minutes to run out for a shoot–and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

And, only 4 days later, little Taavi was born!  That was a close one.    And now that Taavi is born, healthy and adorable, stay tuned for the infant shoot!
