Jodi & Marc: Hamilton/Burlington Engagement Photography

I have known the lovely Jodi May for, uh, 14 years.   Whoa.   I’m old.

Even though I feel a little worse for wear from the last 14 years, Jodi hasn’t changed in the slightest (jerk) and is still the delightful, talented, stylish, laid-back ginger I knew in high school.

It’s been such a blast reconnecting with her and meeting her Prince Charming—and I am so looking forward to their New Years Eve wedding in Niagara Falls!

Congratulations Jodi & Marc!

Let’s Get It Started: Brant County Family Photographer

Good ol’ Monkey came out to play again for this shoot with the lovely Pajunen family!   But it wasn’t what made the kids smile–nope, this time it was the infectious beats of the Black Eyed Peas that brought out the smiles (and all the sweet moves!).

We all had a great time playing dress-up, playing with the not-so-functional cameras, swinging on the hammock and rocking out at a dance party!    Thanks for letting me in to capture some fun, special, energetic moments in your lives.

Amy & Harry-Engagement: Toronto Wedding Photographer

I think the last time I saw Amy I was probably still sleeping in a pink room, with my dolls tucked into their beds nearby and the door open so I could listen to the big kids talking downstairs in the kitchen.

Well, we’ve come a long way since then–I now sleep in a dolphin grey room, with a man instead of dolls and am usually the one making the racket in the kitchen.   Although, there’s something about Amy that still reminds me of my favourite Barbie….

We had such fun the other day–walking around The Beach in Toronto–learning about some of her history and experiencing firsthand her small community-like atmosphere.    The weather, again, was such a blessing, with the sun setting along the water silhouetting Amy & Harry along with the CN Tower.   It was a great shoot–easily switching gears from light-hearted and playful to romantic and tender…to dilapidated and nervous of being attacked by raccoons…?

Congratulations Amy & Harry!  Looking forward to doing it again on Jan 22nd!

Gage St. Family Photos: Hamilton Family Photographer

After so many weeks of miserable weather and rain, I’ve been so blessed to get a couple weeks to catch up on shoots in some really gorgeous Fall weather!    And once again, Hamilton has smiled on me and provided another couple fantastic spots to shoot in.

The location I took this young family to is a real hidden gem in Hamilton–and I was so pleased they enjoyed it as much as I did.   Thanks for making my job so easy guys–it was a pleasure working with you!

Saiyaa turns One: Burlington/Oakville Children’s Photographer

This family is another one of my special families who I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a few times starting with maternity photos for this little monkey–all the way up to her 1st birthday!

But man, did she ever make me work for it!  I think there were up to 6 or 7 of us, at one point, trying to get her to smile–dancing, making weird noises, making faces, bonking each other on the head, spinning sock-monkeys in the air–but nothing would make her crack a smile.  It was pretty hilarious to us seeing how disdainfully she ignored us, but once we took her mittens off she seemed to feel more like herself and morphed into the little ham we knew she could be.

In the end it was a gorgeous day, beautiful locations and lots of smiles.   Happy Birthday Saiyaa!
