Nothing says romance like ketchup & boardgames…

Finally got to shoot the engagement photos for Mike & Kim yesterday–rain or no rain we were going to do engagement photos and they were going to rock, damnit.

With much help from the wedding planner, Tiffany Ewing, we got into Hamilton’s fabulous little Harbour Diner,  near the bay front, then made our way to Sam Lawrence Park where all the trees were in various states of blooming and we had a fantastic view of Hamilton all the way to Toronto!  It was really lovely.

Congratulations Kim & Mike!  See you in September!

Trash It or Treasure It Winners!

Wow!  Once again I was overwhelmed by all the activity surrounding this contest!

Not nearly as many entrants this time, and I fear it’s because of how complicated I made it to earn extra points.   But, live and learn, and congratulations to those who persevered!   You blew any competition you had out of the water!   THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who voted.  It was a lot of fun!

So the winner of the Trash It photo shoot is

the wonderful

Liz McPhee,

from glorious Hamilton, ON!

And the winner of the Treasure It photos shoot is,

of course, the lovely

Liselle Dochstader,

from Mississauga, ON!

Congratulations ladies!   Both of them will have their own private photo shoot with me sometime in the next 6 months.

The Trash It photo shoot will involve just having fun in the wedding gown.  We might go for a dip, canter through a field of long grass, jump in mud puddles…who knows!  Stay tuned… :)

And the Treasure It photo shoot involves creating a more candid, relaxed environment that will immortalize the gown while preserving it (for the most part)!

Liz & Dan catch a train to happily ever afterrrrrrrrr….uh huh.

It was a real treat shooting the wedding for Liz & Dan at the old Liuna Train Station in Hamilton last weekend–and only days after the 2nd anniversary of my husband and I being married there too!

The day moved with the ease and humour shared by Liz & Dan and I know the families and guests all had a fabulous time.

Thanks for being so adventurous, newlyweds!  And congratulations!

Animal Farm band shoot

Last year I had a local-band photo shoot promo, offering a free photo shoot to local Hamilton bands.   I did 4 locals acts then, but wasn’t able to squeeze these guys in: Animal Farm.

I like spicing it up with different kinds of portraits and I like the creativity bands need for their photos–so it was a good combo and a fun shoot.

You can check out Animal Farm at or

If you like any of their influencing bands,

The Beatles, Radiohead, Neil Young, Rage Against the Machine, Muse, Silverchair, Queen

you should check them out.

Robyn & Greg get married at the AGH!

I had the pleasure of shooting Robyn & Greg’s engagement photos in the Spring and now their wedding.  Even though our wedding shoot got rained out, we were fortunate enough to be stuck in the Art Gallery of Hamilton…which turned out to be a great place to HAVE to take photos in a jam.

Congratulations Robyn & Greg!

The talented Ms. Chapman: head shots

I had the pleasure of doing a quick mini-shoot with the very beautiful, very talented and very determined Sarah!

She needed some new head shots for her portfolio and I had bailed on her a couple times prior–you know, to keep her on her feet.   But we managed to squeeze her into my busy schedule and it was a lot of fun.  For me.  It was really cold out…and you’ll notice Sarah isn’t really wearing a lot.  So I’m not sure how ‘fun’ it was for Sarah.  Either way, she did a terrific job at being beautiful and not looking cold.

And sorry, gentlemen.  She’s very much taken.
